- The Goodlands Photography Project at Centro Nueva Creación offers its students an opportunity to function as an essential key in transforming the neighborhood, which is too often referred to as the “Badlands.” Centro Nueva Creación is reclaiming and renaming the surrounding locale, forcing the “Goodlands” into reality. By putting a camera in the hands of our youth, we encourage and guide the students to focus on the positive aspects of their lives. The image-making process becomes an outlet for exposing countless hidden truths, and our hope is that these images will offer a new perspective on the West Kensington and Fairhill neighborhoods of North Philadelphia.
